Any interesting book recommendations?

Julie, thank you for the nice comment. There are so many books on American History, but David McCullough is a good author - so you could read 1776, or his book on John Adams, or my personal favorite - Undaunted Courage (about the Lewis and Clark expedition). He has also written about WWII, so you have a wide range of eras with him.
Correction - Stephen Ambrose wrote the book Undaunted Courage and the books about WWII. I got them confused. :(
